Job Summary

The Agriculture Market Trainer will be responsible for conducting agriculture training and providing technical assistance to beneficiaries in the Market program. In this role, the Agriculture Market Training will design and implement training Market analyses & development, Market mapping & opportunities, Principal of marketing & marketing plan, branding, processing, packing, & advertisement and new product design and sell for vegetable, poultry, livestock products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advisory services include business and technical advice, mentoring, and coaching.

  • Assessment of the training needs to the requested program.

  • The ability to conduct focus groups with beneficiaries and stakeholders.

  • Train the target beneficiaries and offer other support as necessary to make sure the groups are influential and related to agriculture and livelihoods

  • Support with planning and coordination to ensure timely and quality implementation of training activities with the backing from MAHARAT.

  • Design of interventions, activities, and requirements for the capacity development program.

  • Provide assistance, comments, and inputs to other team members.

  • Assist the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer with market and value chain assessments, staying abreast of new developments and techniques

  • Organizing workshops, seminars, and marketing events to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, financiers, government agencies, humanitarian actors, and other stakeholders, and promote the agribusiness projects.

  • Complete other activities and reports as directed by the line manager.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills 

  • Marketing, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, agronomist, rural development, or related degree.

  • At least two years of relevant experience successfully supports small and micro-enterprises/start-ups (including informal, early-stage enterprises).

  • Experience in supporting start-up-related events such as pitching events, demo days, networking events, etc.

  • Good understanding of the business enabling environment and regulation in Iraq and on issues faced by start-ups in Iraq.

  • Excellent commination and writing skills, able to synthesize information from various sources and produce high-quality reports/papers.

  • Knowledge of computer systems and their applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel, including formulas/formatting.

  • High level of integrity and stewardship

  • Experience training agriculturalists is highly encouraged.

LANGUAGE 

Arabic is required; English and Kurdish preferred
